Great for summer hiking too! SkiMo is an activity that involves racing up and down mountains on skis. We build ski poles for athletes who like to travel fast, so it was natural we create a pole for SkiMo. Traditionally, racers have had the choice of adjustable downhill poles or XC poles. Now they have USSPC’s latest development. Here is the story of how it came about.
This pole model was partly developed and tested through Colorado mountaineer and ski instructor Wil Rickards (www.wherethefruitis.com). He spent most of his time skiing in the backcountry grinding uphill. The poles he used were designed for the descent.
USSPC uses light weight shaft material construction and military designed components. Therefore, SkiMo is the lightest and most versatile pole ever made for SkiMo. Easy to use straps. Quick-locking on and off baskets. An extendable lower piece made with blended fiberglass composites to increase durability. SkiMo is fab.
This is only the beginning of the story. Expect the evolution of this pole to be as quick as the athletes who use it to win competitions.

SHAFT
Our upper ski pole shafts are U.S. made of 100% carbon fiber; lower shafts have a fiberglass/carbon blend to increase durability where it is needed most.
STRAP
This strap was designed for the U.S. military and features black 1.5” nylon webbing with added front support. These single-loop straps have easy on/off capabilities and are made of heavy-duty materials that withstand the toughest of conditions. They do not “hike up on the wrist”. USSPC deluxe thermal straps are available as an upgrade.
HANDLE/GRIP
Our in-house handle/grip has the American touch by making it dual function. It uses a traditional wedge system to secure the strap. The grips are made of a thermal anti-chafing material to keep your gloves from developing holes while reciprocating heat back to your hands.
QUICK CLIP BASKET
Every USSPC basket is designed for instant easy-on easy-off application without any need for heat or glue. With three basket sizes available for various snow conditions, you can now make the final decision trailside with your bare hands to change baskets as needed. CARBIDE TIP
Our tips are made from 100% real carbide, not steel. They are exclusively available only with USSPC ski poles. Designed and manufactured in the USA. Tested and approved and used for road skis and snow skis. You will never have to experience the hassle of changing tips and baskets as seasons change.
